The team operates a fully electric fleet of Tesla Model Ys, equipped with advanced tech like onboard and mobile CCTV, body-worn cameras, GPS dispatch, duress alarms, and secure communications. Expert Training, Community Focus

Each MelSafe officer has undergone specialist training—covering conflict resolution, de-escalation, communications, welfare, dog handling, and officer safety tactics. MelSafe stems from a 2024 review of Melville’s Community Safety Service. Residents expressed frustration with multiple points of contact and desired a simplified, more proactive solution.
