Parking Loyalty and Vehicle Accounts

Loyalty parking links need a defined benefit, limited information and a clear end date, especially for shared vehicles and hire cars.

How should loyalty accounts and vehicle records be connected?

Link an account and plate only for a defined parking benefit, with a clear purpose and permission. Eligibility periods, shared vehicles and corrected registrations need explicit handling, using only the information required for that benefit.

The association can outlast the visit unless someone designs its expiry. That makes this a question about maintaining and removing relationships, as much as creating a convenient lookup.

From a stamped validation to a lasting link

Loyalty parking extends the familiar arrangement where a business confirms that a visitor qualifies for a parking benefit. Linking a plate to an account changes the lookup method and can keep the association active between visits.

It can also connect movement records with purchasing records. That wider relationship needs its own defined purpose; the existence of a loyalty account is not a reason to copy its full purchase history into parking software.

A recurring benefit or a single-visit code

An account link may suit an explicitly requested recurring benefit. For occasional customers, a visit-specific code or staff validation can be sufficient without maintaining a lasting vehicle association. Customers who decline linkage still need consideration in the proposed journey.

Shared cars and hire vehicles are particularly important examples. The vehicle's registered association does not establish who made a purchase, and an old account should not keep supplying benefits to unrelated later drivers.

Give the benefit an end date

Test two account holders sharing one plate, then a customer replacing a car. A benefit attached to a hire car should expire with the eligible visit or agreed rental period. Correction and removal need the same attention as initial registration.

Keep the discount decision separate from payment settlement. Authorised reviewers need to see where eligibility came from, so a missing loyalty update is investigated rather than automatically treated as an unpaid visit. The parking service should receive the minimum eligibility information needed.

Entitlement history in Aero Ranger CORE

Aero Ranger CORE permit accounts link holders, vehicles and related records. This is relevant to managing an approved entitlement with history, rather than treating a customer account as an unrestricted source of profiling information.

Any loyalty interface and discount mechanism require separate confirmation. Restrictions on secondary data use must be assessed against the actual agreement and privacy policy before they are described to customers.
