Look beyond the hosting region to understand where parking records are processed, backed up and accessed by support teams.

Data residency covers more than the main database. It includes backups, processing, support access, diagnostics and exports. Review where each copy goes and who can reach it before judging whether the arrangement meets the site's requirements.
Local storage is a technical fact to verify. Whether the complete service meets procurement, contractual and privacy obligations depends on the other handling paths as well as the primary hosting region.
With a local parking server, the main storage location was relatively visible. Hosted platforms, remote support and replicated backups spread that responsibility across several systems. The country hosting the live database now answers only one part of the residency question.
A support session or disaster recovery arrangement can introduce a different access location. Those routes belong alongside routine processing in the deployment diagram, even if they are used only occasionally.
Location matters where procurement conditions, contracts or privacy rules constrain handling. Compare hosted processing with local recognition and a smaller event dataset. Entirely local recognition is not always necessary, while local storage alone does not settle obligations concerning transfers or access.
The useful comparison is what each option sends beyond the site and why. Document the agreed boundaries in writing so support arrangements and recovery procedures can be checked against them.
A frame processed locally may still produce a plate image, timestamp and source identifier for a hosted review queue. The original video can stay on site while that event leaves. Label both paths clearly so local recognition is not mistaken for local custody of every record.
Document locations and responsible parties for live records, staging, backups, diagnostics, support and exports, including recovery changes. For Australian operators subject to the APPs, the APP 8 assessment depends on the handling arrangement and relevant exceptions. Other countries require their own assessment of the proposed flow.
RackLink processes supported RTSP streams within the local network before structured events join CORE. That provides a defined recognition boundary, but the subsequent event path still needs to be included in the residency review.
Schedule 4 places CORE production and staging in AWS Sydney, with backups in Melbourne, and permits some overseas access or processing. Remaining support, event and subprocessor paths need confirmation; describing the complete arrangement as Australia-only handling would miss that qualification.
