Compact and Bollard ALPR Mounting

Compact camera mounting needs more than a discreet enclosure; plate sightlines, queued vehicles and service access shape a workable location.

Can compact or bollard mounting suit the property?

Yes, where the position provides a usable plate view and a maintainable installation. Compare appearance with viewing geometry, impact exposure, power and service access before civil works begin, rather than trying to conceal equipment after the capture layout is chosen.

Drawings help agree those constraints early. A discreet enclosure still has to observe the relevant plate path when the lane is occupied, not only when it is empty.

Smaller housings keep the same optical problem

Camera mounting has always linked a viewing position with a protective housing. Compact designs put that relationship into a smaller architectural footprint, without removing the need for sightlines and access to the equipment.

Less internal space can also mean less room for connectors, drainage and servicing. These details belong in the design discussion alongside finishes and the overall appearance of the entrance.

Bollards are an option, not a property requirement

Bollard mounting is not inherently necessary for a premium property. A discreet wall position or another approved structure may offer a more suitable view, depending on vehicle movements and the available mounting points.

Compare front and rear plate positions, turning paths and likely obstructions. A low enclosure near a curb may be hidden behind a queued vehicle or exposed to water, despite looking unobtrusive in an empty-lane drawing.

Check the lens position against real vehicles

For illustration, a lens 0.8 m above the road viewing a plate center at 0.5 m over a 4 m horizontal distance has a downward angle of about 4.3 degrees. That geometry says nothing about a queued vehicle blocking the view or a vehicle turning across it.

Review sample viewpoints with turning movements, impact risk and drainage in mind. Access to seals and connectors should remain practical after decorative finishes are installed. Agree those limitations and the mounting drawing before ordering the civil works.

COREconnect leaves room for a mounting discussion

COREconnect keeps supported camera choice separate from the operating workflow. That allows the physical arrangement to be discussed around the property and its practical constraints.

Compatibility and a usable capture view still require validation for the exact equipment. The small enclosure itself does not establish either part of that deployment assessment.
